Scoring Stages Courses
The Scoring Stages courses focus on orchestration and composition for those who read music or create by ear. Scoring Stages #1 looks at 12 scoring techniques for live orchestra and MIDI mock-ups from the symphonies of Anton Bruckner. Bruckner has been called the "Grandfather of Film Music" because of his innovative harmonies heard so often on screen, his use of span of orchestration showing clarity of line, and thematic elements which have made their way into many films.
Scoring Stages #2 is a great starter course in composition/arranging for those with little to no formal music theory, but it also teaches some concepts generally not found in music classes today.
